Author's Bio
Gabrielle Kaplan-Mayer is a freelance writer and educator based in Philadelphia. She is the author of two books of plays for children The Magic Tanach and Other Short Plays and Extraordinary Jews: Staging Their Lives (available at arepublish.com) and the non-fiction book Insulin Pump Therapy Demystified (available at www.insulinpumpbook.com). A 1993 graduate of Emerson College with a B.F.A. cum laude in performing arts, she also earned a Master's degree in Jewish studies at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Gabrielle is currently the Asst. Education Director at Congregation Mishkan Shalom, Philadelphia and writes frequently for various publications about the arts, health, parenting and spirituality. She is married to Fred Kaplan-Mayer, Director of Development for Philadelphia Young Playwrights and mother of darling George, a toddler.
